Allentown is the third largest city in Pennsylvania and features a bustling, urban center city with over 120,000 residents. With the formation of a new downtown planning and tourism organization, the community hoped to share its vibrant downtown with new visitors and businesses alike. The organization chose to rebrand the area, with the tagline “Real. Good. Times.” as a testament to the city’s authenticity and excitement. A new logo, reminiscent of both a speech bubble and a GPS pin on a map symbolizes the excitement and exuberance of the downtown district. Punctuation marks are used as an overall graphic concept (!, “”, &, [], etc.) to capture both the motion and emotion individuals experience living their lives in Downtown Allentown. Bold typography and colors are predominant in the visual identity to showcase the spirit of vibrance and exhilaration of the lively city.
